What inspires me to write?

When we are out and about on our adventures either a day trip or a holiday, ideas spring into my mind for a story. I can’t wait to get pen to paper and write notes so I don’t forget my ideas.

MY NOTE BOOK

I bought this lovely A5 notebook in Tottenham Court Road, London. I have been using it ever since for ideas I have for Mr Blinking.

A DAY TRIP OUT TO WARWICK CASTLE

When you read Mr Blinking check out where he lives. Warwick Castle gave me the inspiration to create BLINKING TOWERS!

Pen-y-gent Yorkshire.

Our trip to Yorkshire gave me the idea of the location where Mr Blinking might live.

This is where I write.

The bureau once belonged to my Great Aunt.

I see Murphy has opened up the toffee tin again!

He stars in Mr Blinking, find out who he is in the story.

In 2016 we went on holiday in Derbyshire. We were cycling along Monsal Dale Trail when we came across Cressbrook Mill.

The mill instantly created inspiration for

MR BLINKING’S TRAINER FACTORY where the orphans live. Check out the illustration when you read Mr Blinking.

There is a very famous author who was also inspired by this mill. Who do you think it is? What book did they write? Email me with the answer if you know it along with your own painting of Mr Blinking. Ask your parents or guardians to send a picture of your painting along with the answer to me:- charleykingcreative@gmail.com
